Andy and Lisa

Our Story

Andy and Lisa first met in 2005 when a mutual friend invited Lisa to work for a weekend as a greeter at Andy's billiards store. He liked her eyes, and she liked his smile. What began as a fun flirtation quickly blossomed into friendship. A relationship soon followed, but of course, life had other plans. The two went their separate ways after a year, Lisa up in Baltimore and Andy down in Rockville. A decade passed before they became reacquainted, but this time, it stuck. The time was finally right, and the rest is history!

Andy says that Lisa is loving and caring, especially to his daughter, and always makes him laugh. Lisa says that Andy is adventurous and kind, and makes all of her ideas come to life. He is practical, and she is creative. He listens to country music, and she likes anything but. He loves his Spartan races, she'll run a road race instead. He is a sports junkie, and she is a bookworm. He is better at baking, while she prefers to cook. He'll have a sangria, and she'll take a beer.

Despite their many, many differences (seriously, so many!), he loves her and she loves him. They feel so lucky that after everything, life found a way to bring them back together.

In January of 2018, following Lisa's work conference in Orlando, Andy popped the question surrounded by family and alongside his daughter, under the lights of Cinderella's castle. Of course, Lisa said yes! They're so excited for their next chapter, and can't wait to celebrate it with you!

Wedding Celebration

In an effort to keep the evening relaxed and laid-back, we have opted to forego a formal sit-down dinner in favor of a cocktail reception surrounded by our family and closest friends. After a short ceremony, we'll dance, toast, and enjoy a selection of snacks, light fare, and desserts (and drinks!) prepared by chefs from the nearby Woodberry Kitchen. We hope you'll join us!

Artifact Coffee is a charming, cozy space nestled inside Union Mill, part of Baltimore's Clipper Mill neighborhood. The building was erected more than 150 years ago and was once the world's largest producer of cotton canvas, making it a significant contibutor to the city's rich industrial history. After decades of neglect, this building and much of the surrounding area was historically renovated and is now home to restaurants, breweries, non-profit organizations, and affordable residences for Baltimore City educators.

It is easily accessible from points north and south, and there is ample parking available on site at no charge. You'll know you've found the right place when you spot the building with the large "A" hanging above the door!

Wedding Party

Elizabeth Phelps

Best Maid

Deciding who would stand alongside us when we finally say "I do" was the easiest choice of all! Pulling double duty as Maid of Honor and Best Man, affectionately dubbed "Best Maid," is none other than Andy's daughter, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is finishing up her senior year and will be heading off to Towson University in the Fall. She hopes to study nursing in college, and throughout high school she was a cheerleader for Walter Johnson (go Wildcats!) She loves to travel, attend concerts with her friends, and spend time with Gus, the handsome guy in the photo.

We love you more than words, E, and we are both so proud of you!

Gift Registry

In Memory of Kevin Phelps and John Anderson

In lieu of a gift registry, we'd like to encourage our friends and family to consider making a donation to one of two charities in honor of Andy's brother, Kevin, and Lisa's father, John.

Kevin was a gentle, genuine, and loving man, a talented artist, lover of animals, and an avid camper and hiker. He loved video games and yoga, green smoothies and motorcycles. He was, without a doubt, happiest and most at-home when surrounded by nature, with his sweet pup Roxy hitching a ride over his shoulder.

To honor Kevin's memory and love of the great outdoors, we suggest giving to the Tree-mendous Maryland program, to have a tree planted in his name. You can learn more by clicking here.

Certificates may be mailed to:
13418 Bluebeard Terrace
Clarksburg, MD 20871

John was generous, humble, and kind, a devoted husband and father, and the ultimate handy man. He loved nothing more than to spend time with his family, help his kids with their house projects, talk about lacrosse, and dispense advice.

To honor John's memory, we suggest giving to the Myositis Association. All money raised in his name will be dedicated to research efforts, and support patients who live with this condition. You can learn more about John's legacy, Myositis, and the work of this association by clicking here.

A note from us...
Although this will be a day of celebration and joy, Dad and Kevin will be missed profoundly. We are so grateful to our family and friends for allowing them to live on - both in our hearts and on our wedding day.

Thank you for helping us to honor these two incredible men.

With Love,
Andy and Lisa
